This entry level Jeep unlocks you the possibility of experiencing a Jeep at an affordable cost. And the 2022 Jeep Renegade with it’s rugged and muscular looks would be enough to impress you, but it’s decent spacious cabin and average performance with good off-road capabilities would make your mind turn for it to buy. While this entry level Jeep is quite capable for it’s off-roading abilities and it’s good ride experience, the minor bumps and rolls with not doing good interior choices and average performance could turn down many buyers. What’s New For 2022 ?
For the 2022, the new Renegade will boast a new torquer turbo four engine while clearing out it’s messy line up of trim levels. A new RED Edition and an Altitude package will be present which offer a gloss black trim outside and inside. And will come with a larger infotainment system with built-in navigation while the top tier trims will add new 18 inch wheels and a new grille.
Engine, Transmission, 0-60, Top Speed & Performance
The new Renegade will boast a 1.3 Litre turbocharged four cylinder engine which will make 177 hp and 210 lb ft of torque, paired with a nine speed automatic transmission with front or four wheel drive. And can go from 0-60 mph in 9.0 seconds with a top speed of 82 mph.
While the underwhelming powertrain choice might be a let down for many, it’s performance and off-roading capabilities are very good with good levels of stiffness with great handling and really great steering feedback. Of Course it’s an entry level Jeep, so you can’t expect a lot in terms of comfortness and ride quality, but nevertheless you won’t be disappointed either. And if you’re looking for great ride quality and comfort is your priority then the the rivals from Kia and Mazda will definitely fill that gap for you.
Fuel Economy | Mileage
The 2022 Renegade with it’s turbo four is very much fuel efficient with delivering a mileage of 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway with the front wheel drive. And a mileage of 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with the all wheel drive is expected.
