Lincoln Aviator Specifications & Features
The 2023 Lincoln Aviator might be the four-wheeled living room you’re searching for if you like Lincoln’s brand of luxury but find the enormous Navigator SUV too big. The experience is very same, and it can accommodate up to seven riders in a much more manageable compact than the Nav. Even though it consumes more fuel than mid-sizers like the BMW X5 and Volvo XC90, the Aviator is more fuel-efficient than that extra-large Lincoln SUV. The Aviator isn’t a cornering powerhouse, and although being pretty speedy, it’s tuned more for comfort than for driver enjoyment, in keeping with the brand’s overall philosophy. Lincoln outfits the Aviator with a tonne of technological features; the most expensive Black Label variants, however pricy, have gleaming interiors with plenty of wow factor.
What’s New?
This year, the Aviator Reserve and Black Label variants can be purchased with a new Jet aesthetic option that mostly replaces the exterior chrome trim of the SUV with black pieces and replaces the lower plastic cladding and wheel surrounds with body-colored ones. An optional Illumination package that features adaptive pixel LED headlights, unique LED daytime running lights, an illuminated Lincoln logo in the grille, and LED fog lamps is now available for the plug-in hybrid Grand Touring variant. Diamond Red and Jewel Sandstone are the final two new colors that are now accessible.
Lincoln Aviator Engine, Power, Performance & Acceleration
The Lincoln Aviator’s 400-hp twin-turbo V6 is among the most powerful standard engines in the mid-size luxury SUV segment. The refined 3.0-liter V6 works with a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission to deliver both serene cruising and authoritative acceleration. In place of a more powerful V8 engine as an option, Lincoln offers a plug-in-hybrid model that’s known as the Aviator Grand Touring. Using the same V6 and 10-speed transmission as the standard Aviator, the Grand Touring adds a 100-hp electric motor and a 13.6-kWh battery. The two propulsion sources combine for 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque, but the refinement isn’t quite up to snuff, with occasional thunks when the driveline reengages the gas engine.
Lincoln Aviator Mileage
2023 Lincoln Aviator Mileage | City | Highway |
RWD | 18 mpg | 26 mpg |
AWD | 17 mpg | 24 mpg |
Rear-wheel-drive Lincoln Aviators get 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the interstate, according to the EPA, while all-wheel-drive versions get 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. With such figures, the Aviator’s fuel economy is just somewhat worse than that of all-wheel-drive rivals like the X5, XC90, and Audi Q7.
