Maserati Grecale Specifications & Features

As part of Maserati’s effort to diversify its inventory, the 2023 Maserati Grecale will be the second SUV to visit the Italian automaker’s showrooms in 2023. The brand’s brand-new mid-size Levante is followed by the company’s new small luxury crossover. The Grecale shares a prominent Maserati grille with the upcoming MC20 supercar, while the rest of its bulbous shape is typical of its class, which includes rivals like the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, BMW X3, and Porsche Macan. The 296-hp turbo-four and all-wheel drive are standard on the 2023 Grecale. There is also a 325-hp variation of that engine. With a 523-hp twin-turbo V-6, the top-of-the-line Trofeo offers maximum performance, while an all-electric Maserati Grecale Folgore will be added to the range the following year.

What’s New?

During the MC20 reveal announcement in 2020, the Grecale was first alluded to. Finally, Maserati’s second SUV has been made public after we caught a glimpse of a prototype and more teaser photographs. High-tech flourishes are incorporated into the beautiful interior decor of The Grecale. Rich materials are used throughout the cabin, and the dash has a pair of touchscreens on the centre stack and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The infotainment system is controlled by the 12.3-inch upper unit, while the HVAC and other functions are displayed on the 8.8-inch bottom screen.

The Grecale has an eight-speed automated gearbox, an eight-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and all-wheel drive. The Modena’s engine has a higher output version with 325 horsepower instead of the GT’s 296 horsepower engine. The high-output four-cylinder engine had some turbo lag during our initial test drive, but we largely appreciated the powertrain for its brisk acceleration and ample power. In the Grecale’s faster drive modes, the ride is forgiving, and when the Comfort option is selected, it is practically plush. Although the Grecale’s agility is simple to take advantage of and handling is pretty neutral, the Porsche Macan nevertheless offers a more enjoyable driving experience.

A 12.3-inch touchscreen controls much of the Grecale’s Google-based infotainment system, but a smaller 8.8-inch touchscreen on the bottom manages additional functions. Every model includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a Wi-Fi hotspot is available for a monthly fee. The Grecale’s infotainment system is compatible with voice-activated programmes like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Another option for the SUV’s music system is a 21-speaker, 1285-watt Sonus Faber stereo.

Grecale Price

The Grecale will start at slightly under $65,000, according to Maserati. This makes it one of the most expensive compact luxury crossovers in its category. Since the Modena trim enables the four-cylinder engine’s maximum 325 horsepower, we advise choosing it.
