Mercedes-Benz EQA Specifications & Features
The conventional subcompact GLA-class serves as the foundation for the new all-electric crossover SUV Mercedes-Benz will introduce in 2023. The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQA, an electric vehicle produced by Mercedes’ EQ subbrand, is anticipated to start production later this year. Mercedes says it is still being considered for entry into the U.S. market but has only so far provided information on the worldwide model. We believe that importing the 2023 EQA here would be a smart decision given the demand for premium SUVs in the United States. A battery pack installed beneath the vehicle’s floor supplies energy to an all-electric drivetrain that produces 188 horsepower for front-drive models and 268 horsepower for all-wheel-drive versions.
What’s New?
If the 2023 EQA does arrive in American dealerships, it will be a brand-new vehicle and the company’s entry-level electrified SUV offering. The interior of the EQA is nearly identical to that of the GLA, except for a few rose gold accents and various decorations. In the rear hatch, there will be five seats and a respectable amount of cargo space. To accommodate the battery pack, Mercedes has elevated the floor of the cabin and the back cargo area only a little bit.
Mercedes-Benz EQA Motor, Battery, Range & Performance
The regular EQA250 has a single electric motor in the engine compartment that produces 188 horsepower and only drives the front wheels. There will eventually be a 268-horsepower AWD configuration and an EQA that is range-optimized. The front-drive, 188-hp EQA250’s heavy curb weight slows down the European model. At city speeds, it felt snappy, but once the pace reached 60 mph, it became noticeably slower. Its top speed is electronically limited to 99 mph, and Mercedes claims that it will go from 0 to 62 mph in an uninspiring 8.9 seconds.
Although we can’t be certain whether it will affect the ride and handling, the more potent EQA should help offset its heft. As it stands, Mercedes’ listless body control, invasive stability-control system, and cold brake pedal feel left us unimpressed. A 66.5 kWh battery pack will be used by the EQA to provide a driving range of 200–250 miles. The Model 3 car and Model Y SUV are only two examples of competitors with similar prices, so the range figure is significant.
Mercedes-Benz EQA Mileage
The EPA will give an efficiency rating in MPGe, or miles per gallon equivalent for electric vehicles, once it has tested the U.S. version of the EQA.

The EQA will have Mercedes-Benz’s most recent MBUX infotainment system available. For controlling its audio, navigation, and other features, it will provide a touchscreen, voice commands, and steering-wheel controls. This new interface can be challenging to use at times, especially with its excessively zealous voice assistant that activates whenever you speak the word, Mercedes. There will probably be a function in the navigation that makes it easier for drivers to locate EV charging stations.
