Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Specifications & Features
Mercedes-Benz has given the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class SUV a similar makeover as it did with the revised C-class sedan. The 2023 GLC shares the basic turbocharged four-cylinder engine, 48-volt hybrid system, and nine-speed automatic gearbox of the C-class, as well as being mechanically identical to the sedan and similarly difficult to distinguish from its predecessor. A plug-in hybrid variant will be added to the range later. The GLC’s interior receives the same technological enhancements as the C-class sedan’s, including a big touchscreen infotainment display that is vertically oriented and cutting-edge driver-assistance technologies. The new GLC and the old GLC have small aesthetic variations as a result of the style update, but the larger wheelbase and slight increase in total length are reported to slightly increase cargo and passenger space. Early in 2023 is when we anticipate the 2023 GLC-class SUV going on market.
What’s New?
Although the previous model was available in both a squareback and a fastback “coupe” body shape, Mercedes has only revealed the former for the GLC-class’s all-new 2023 iteration. The inside of the GLC-class has tastefully selected high-end materials, a modernised design, more intriguingly curved air vents on the dashboard, and substantially digitalized infotainment and HVAC system control. The C300 sedan’s touch-sensitive control buttons have been replaced with new ones on the steering wheel. Heated front seats with memory settings and adjustable lumbar support are also included on all variants. Standard features include ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and a power liftgate for the back door.
Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Engine, Power, Acceleration & Performance
The GLC300 badge will be used on all 2023 GLC-class cars, all of which are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The powerplant, which generates 258 horsepower, is supplemented by a 48-volt hybrid system. Rear drive and a nine-speed automatic gearbox are both standard, and the 4Matic all-wheel drive system from Mercedes is an option.
Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Mileage
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Mileage | City | Highway |
GLC-Class | 22 mpg | 29 mpg |
The EPA hasn’t yet revealed fuel economy estimates for the 2023 GLC-class SUV, but we anticipate seeing figures that are comparable to those of the outgoing model and the main competitors of the Benz. The 2022 model had 22 city mpg and 29 highway mpg ratings.
Dimensions & Space
The GLC includes Mercedes-Benz’s newest MBUX infotainment system as standard equipment, mirroring the choices in the new C-class sedan. The crucial mechanical and speed information is communicated on a 12.3-inch digital gauge display. From the centre console, an 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen rises and is slightly angled towards the driver. The device incorporates standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and can recognise voice commands. An augmented reality element of the optional in-dash navigation system overlays directions on a picture of the road ahead on the display. A head-up display and a Burmester premium sound system are other noteworthy extras. The HVAC system’s physical buttons and the audio volume knob are both missing.
Pricing
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class Trims | Price (USD) |
Premium | $48,250 |
Exclusive | $50,000 |
Pinnacle | $52,600 |
We would choose the mid-range Exclusive trim, which adds a number of features that make the price increase well worth it. These amenities include a premium Burmester stereo system, a 360-degree exterior video system, a multi-color interior ambient lighting system, and in-dash navigation. Rear-wheel drive is the GLC’s normal form of propulsion, while all-wheel drive is an option on all models.
