Nissan Armada Specifications & Features
Nissan equips each 2023 Nissan Armada with a 400-horsepower V8 in order to supply the big-SUV market with plenty of power. With an outstanding towing capability of 8,500 pounds, even the base model has plenty of scoot. The Armada is a three-row barge of luxury and entertainment that is available with either rear- or four-wheel drive. Quilted leather heated seats, headrest-mounted display screens, and open-pore wood trim pieces offer this Nissan a touch of Bentley excitement at the top of the Armada trim levels. There’s no getting around the fact that large power requires solutions by the gallon, despite recent modifications giving the Armada more power and an updated design. Even if the Chevy Tahoe, Jeep Wagoneer, and Ford Expedition are better mondo-SUVs, the Armada’s design and potent engine make it remarkably endearing.
What’s New?
The 2023 Nissan SUV features just minor revisions following the Armada’s significant redesign for 2021. Nissan equips the Armada SV, SL, and Platinum with Amazon Alexa. Armada SV now comes with remote starting, LED fog lights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror as standard features. The long list of standard extras on the 2023 Armada SL now includes a heated steering wheel. The Armada’s elegant exterior is complemented with a comfortable and roomy interior. The majority of the materials are beautiful and comfortable, and the cabin is well-isolated from outside sounds. The Armada has three rows of seating and has a maximum capacity of eight passengers; however, with the optional second-row captain’s chairs, that number lowers to seven.
Nissan Armada Engine, Power, Acceleration & Performance
The Armada’s only drivetrain is a potent 5.6-liter V8 paired with a refined seven-speed automated gearbox. The engine produces 400 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque when using premium fuel, up 10 horsepower and 19 pound-feet from 2021. It can be paired with either four-wheel drive or the rear. The Armada’s completely independent suspension helps it drive surprisingly well considering its size, but its handling falls short of that of the more agile Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Even though a test car had 22-inch wheels (18-inch wheels are typical), the ride was quiet and comfortable. Although it had a soft ride, this did not impair our sensation of control. However, the steering was sluggish and inaccurate, allowing the SUV to wander on the highway like a member of its Spanish namesake.
Nissan Armada Mileage
2023 Nissan Armada Mileage | City | Highway |
RWD | 14 mpg | 19 mpg |
4WD | 13 mpg | 18 mpg |
The same V8 engine and automatic gearbox power every Armada, making the Nissan less fuel-efficient than the majority of its competitors. The rear-drive variant should achieve 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the interstate, according to the EPA. Incorporating four-wheel drive lowers both figures by 1 mpg.
Dimensions & Space
2023 Nissan Armada Dimensions | |
Length | 208.9 in |
Width | 79.9 in |
Height | 75.8 in |
Wheelbase | 121.1 in |
Cargo Volume | 17 ft3 |
Airbags | 6 Airbags |
A huge 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with rotary volume and tuning settings is included on every Armada. The unit protrudes from the top of the centre stack and includes wireless smartphone charging, standard Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, built-in navigation, and SiriusXM satellite radio (subscription required). A 13-speaker Bose audio system is added to the entry-level SL model, while a rear-seat entertainment system with two 8.0-inch displays is included in the top-tier Platinum trim.
Pricing
2023 Nissan Armada Trims | Price (USD) |
S | $52,495 |
SV | $57,045 |
SL | $60,065 |
Platinum | $68,815 |
The best value, in our opinion, is the SL trim. It includes a 13-speaker Bose audio system, 20-inch rims, leather inside decorations, a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and a sunroof in addition to the attractive standard items it gets from the base SV model. The optional second-row captain’s chairs, which we’d add, are also unlocked by the SL.

Conclusion
Comfortable ride, strong towing, and lots of lux. Old-fashioned interior design elements, thirsty powertrain, and stutters at highway speeds. With an outstanding powerplant, Nissan’s largest vehicle roams the planet, but its strength and capability come at a price.
