Nissan Murano Specifications & Features
The 2023 Nissan Murano, in contrast to other mid-size SUVs, forgoes a tough, outdoor-inspired exterior in favor of an unsettling appearance that’s a sophisticated hybrid of a vehicle and a crossover. Whatever name you give it, it appears good. The Murano’s attractiveness, however, ends there because its outdated base prevents it from competing against more modern two-row rivals like the Honda Passport, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The 3.6-liter V6 engine in the Murano produces adequate power, but because it is connected to a CVT, it is kept in drone mode when accelerating. All Muranos have a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 260 horsepower under the hood. All trims come standard with FWD, but anyone can be upgraded to AWD. Both drivetrains use a CVT. The most recent Murano to go through testing performed admirably on the test track and provided spirited city driving. Few Murano owners will frequently bury their foot in the throttle, but when they do, the CVT spikes and maintains the engine revs, producing a loud, droning grumble from the engine compartment. On long-distance highway trips, the Murano excels because the motor disappears into the background and provides a tranquil ride. The Murano’s suspension is optimized for comfort, making long drives a breeze. It smooths out even the worst potholes for a comfortable ride.

An 8.0-inch color touchscreen display running Nissan’s NissanConnect infotainment system is standard on all Murano models, and the entire lineup now includes navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM with Travel Link weather and traffic updates. Both USB-A and USB-C connections are available in the Murano, and there are two of each on the back of the center console so passengers in the back seat may charge their devices.
