The design and overall vibe are similar to the rest of the luxury automaker’s lineup, so the only difference is the powertrain. All-wheel drive and up to 402 horsepower are provided by two electric motors. The acceleration is strong, but not as quick as in rivals such as the BMW iX, Jaguar I-Pace, or Tesla Model X. What’s New?
The e-Tron and e-Tron Sportback SUVs have been renamed the Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback for 2024. To avoid confusion with other members of Audi’s expanding EV lineup, all of which use some variation of the e-tron name. Audi has given the SUVs a styling refresh to commemorate the occasion, including a redesigned grille, restyled lighting elements, and updated wheel designs. Both models now have a larger, 106.0-kWh battery pack, giving the Q8 e-tron models more range and the ability to compete with rivals.
Motor & Performance
Under the creased bodywork of the Q8 e-tron are two electric motors, one at the front axle and the other at the rear. They work together to provide electronic all-wheel drive, but the rear motor does the majority of the work. In normal driving conditions, they produce 355 horsepower and 414 pound-feet of torque. However, shifting into Sport mode temporarily unlocks 402 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque. Its quick acceleration is typical of electric vehicles, and its smooth, quiet ride confirmed its luxury credentials. Its braking system expertly combined traditional friction brakes with the required regenerative braking system. Nonetheless, the Q8 e-tron exhibits traditional SUV characteristics, including the ability to tow up to 4000 pounds.
Audi claims that the 106.0-kWh battery pack in the Q8 e-tron will provide up to 300 miles per charge. Every e-tron has a 170-kW fast charger that can recharge 80 percent of the battery in about 30 minutes.

The EPA has not yet released fuel economy estimates for the 2024 Q8 e-tron SUV, but we anticipate they will be similar to those for the 2023 model, which was rated for up to 78 MPGe city and 79 MPGe highway.

The infotainment system in every Q8 e-tron is controlled by dual touchscreens, with a 10.1-inch display on top and an 8.6-inch unit below. While the upper screen offers access to the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps, as well as the available Bang & Olufsen audio system, the bottom screen is primarily used for climate control. The system includes a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot as well as several power outlets; a wireless smartphone charger is optional.

Audi has not announced pricing for the 2024 Q8 e-tron models.
