The bold GMC Hummer EV and the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV share an electric engine. But the latter is a more traditional interpretation of the electric pickup truck. Some may find the feature evocative of the now-discontinued Avalanche pickup truck from the early 2000s. A midgate design option allows users to fold down the partition between the bed and the cab for added storage space. It is anticipated that the Silverado EV, a new addition to the Chevrolet inventory, will make its debut as a 2024 model and go on sale sometime in 2023. The maximum towing capacity of the Silverado EV at launch will be 10,000 pounds for the RST grade and 8000 pounds for the WT. A variant with a 20,000-pound towing capacity will soon be added to the inventory, according to Chevrolet. Dimensions & Space

Both systems can be customized to the driver’s preferences. The Silverado EV’s infotainment system hasn’t yet been fully revealed by Chevrolet, but we anticipate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to come as standard, in addition to in-dash navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot.

The Silverado EV will first be available in Work Truck (WT) trim, which is the most affordable, as well as in equipped RST and off-road Trail Boss trims. However, Chevy claims mid-range trims will be introduced later to complete the selection. Although the WT variant misses several of the truck’s greatest features, it will cost $41,595. Alternatively, we’d wait for a nicely-equipped mid-range trim to become available or shoot for the Trail Boss or RST.
