Ford Ranger Raptor Specifications & Features

The high-flying, speed-defying F-150 Raptor is essentially scaled down for the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor. The off-road-capable Ranger will have the same flared fenders, tough tires, more ground clearance, and a distinctive grille as its larger brother. A twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 engine with 430 pound-feet of torque and 405 horsepower is standard. The Raptor edition of the Ranger will have a long-travel suspension for flying over jumps and numerous driving modes to optimize its off-road performance over a variety of difficult terrain, even though it will ride on the same completely boxed ladder frame as the standard Ranger. Only one body type for the Ford will be available: a crew cab attached to a five-foot cargo box.

What’s New?

Ford has officially released the Ranger Raptor’s specifications for the United States and announced that production will start in Michigan this summer. Before the release of the official information, we had already seen the global model, spy images of it in use, and a camouflaged prototype of the next Ranger. The inside of the Raptorized Ranger will be only slightly changed from that of the standard Ranger. While a lot of harsh plastics and certain rubberized materials are still to be expected, Ford spruces up the interior with special materials. It has front seats with thick bolsters, orange trim, and a steering wheel with a sportier appearance. The steering wheel has two aluminum paddle shifters and an orange band at the noon position to signify its performance edge.

A twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque will power the 2024 Ranger Raptor. The Ford Bronco Raptor has a similar arrangement, with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and standard 4WD that features locking front and rear differentials. The Raptor will have stronger off-road equipment and a stiffer suspension than its pedestrian equivalent. It boasts wider front and rear tracks, 33-inch BFGoodrich K03 all-terrain tires, a higher ride height, and more ground clearance. Additionally featured are Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks and an active exhaust system. Ford states that it can tow a maximum of 5510 pounds, which is less than the 7500-pound limit of the normal 2024 Ranger. The payload capacity of the Raptor is 1411 pounds, which is also less than that of a typical truck.

Although the Ranger Raptor’s fuel economy hasn’t yet been reported by the EPA, we don’t anticipate it to be efficient. Only 15 mpg city and 16 mpg highway is the only rating for the similarly situated Bronco Raptor.

Dimensions & Space

A 12.0-inch touchscreen with Ford’s most recent Sync infotainment system and a 12.4-inch digital instrument panel is standard on every Ranger Raptor. That means a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are all standard. The widebody Ranger will include numerous charging points in addition to features like built-in navigation and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen music system.

Ranger Raptor Price

Ford has not yet disclosed the Ranger Raptor’s price, though it will be available for purchase as a 2024 model. Due to its more potent engine, we anticipate its starting price will be higher than rivals like the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and the Chevy Colorado ZR2.
