2024 Lotus Eletre Specifications & Features

The British automaker Lotus, best known for producing lightweight, high-performance sports cars in small quantities, is departing from this tried-and-true advertising tactic with a brand-new model that is unlike any Lotus before it. The 2024 Lotus Eletre is a high-performance electric SUV that will start selling in the United States sometime in 2023. It was constructed in China. The Eletre’s enormous battery pack makes it far heavier than any other Lotus vehicle, but its electric motors, which have a minimum output of 603 horsepower, enable it to accelerate quickly. The Audi e-tron and BMW iX are just two other electric SUV models that Lotus hopes to compete with, but the Eletre is strikingly similar to the mind-blowing Lamborghini Urus.

What’s New?

The Eletre is a brand-new addition to the Lotus portfolio and the company’s first SUV. In addition to preserving a drag coefficient of 0.26, the Eletre has a purpose. The Eletre is the day job that Lotus had to obtain. There is a lot to discuss. The Eletre is a large vehicle that is roughly the same length as a Honda Pilot and a few inches shorter than a Lamborghini Urus. The Eletre is a complicated topography of peaks and gullies, unlike a Honda with slab sides. Its sides are sucked in like it had buccal fat removed, and its bodywork is divided with pass-throughs like a midcentury kitchen.

Lotus Eletre Motor, Battery, Performance & Top-Speed

The Eletre’s base powertrain is an all-wheel drive system with two motors that produce 603 horsepower. We believe that will be sufficient to accelerate the Eletre to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. First impressions point to a performance SUV that is swift and comfortable but not as maneuverable as Lotus’ sports cars. With a whopping 905 horsepower, the top-spec R should reach 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds. That particular model is far more dramatic on the road and displayed unsettling squirms and twitches when we pressed the accelerator hard. Although we wouldn’t exactly describe the Eletre S’s accelerator response as lethargic, we were taken aback by how leisurely it accelerated off the line.

Thanks to air springs, electronically regulated dampers, and lightweight aluminum suspension parts, the Eletre S rides as smoothly as custard when not required to attempt jack-rabbit starts. The base and S trims should have a driving range of roughly 315 miles thanks to a 109.0 kWh battery pack. The high-performance Eletre R should have a range of about 260 miles per charge, which isn’t nearly as amazing. A stoplight start results in a noticeable wait before the Eletre sets its Lotus-spec Pirelli P Zero PZ4 Elects in motion, but from a roll, it will stretch your jowls to your ears.

A head-up display and an enhanced audio system with 23 speakers and 1500 watts are now available, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will come as standard.

According to Lotus, the Eletre will be available in Base, S, and R variants, with a starting price of less than $85,000. To maximize range, we’d stay with the base or S grade, both of which have an electric engine with a 603-hp rating that is less potent but still extremely powerful, and a projected driving range of roughly 315 miles per charge. With two motors and a 109.0 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can charge at up to 350 kilowatts, all trim levels should have a range of about 260 miles for the most powerful model and 315 miles for the most refined. Adaptive air springs, 22-inch wheels, four-zone climate control, a head-up display, and Bluetooth phone mirroring are all standard features on the Eletre, even in the basic model.
