Mercedes-Benz EGQ Specifications & Features
The Mercedes-Benz G-class developed a reputation as an all-terrain vehicle over a number of decades before turning into a six-figure prestige symbol for celebrities. Now that gas-powered vehicles are becoming less popular, the G-class is giving birth to the all-electric 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQG. Mercedes has only displayed the Concept EQG thus far, which it describes as a “near-production study.” The EQG maintains the traditional G-class boxy design. And Mercedes claims it will continue to be a very capable all-terrain vehicle. One electric motor is anticipated to be installed in each wheel of the Mercedes EQG in 2024. And the battery pack will be integrated within a sturdy, vintage ladder frame.
What’s New?
When the EQG debuts, it will represent a completely new model for the Mercedes brand. It might go on sale in late 2023 since we anticipate its arrival for the 2024 model year. The EQG’s batteries and electric motors will be brand-new. Even if the suspension and chassis are likely to be similar to those of the G-class with a petrol engine. The usual spare wheel housing has been replaced on the Concept EQG with a lockable box to hold the charging cord and add some more storage, but we still anticipate the EQG to include a rear-mounted spare tyre.
Mercedes-Benz EQE Motor, Battery & Performance
Four individually adjustable electric motors, one near each wheel, are anticipated to power the EQG, enhancing both on- and off-road driving capability. If the design is any indication, the EQG will also include a 2-speed gearbox that can be switched between for off-roading. Similar to the gas G-class, the EQG will have a stiff rear axle and a sophisticated independent front suspension that should improve on-road driving.
