Mercedes-Benz eSprinter Specifications & Features
When one of its brand-new 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter electric vans silently glides up to your house to deliver an item. Mercedes-Benz may soon be physically bringing an electric vehicle to your doorstep. In the second half of 2023, the company will begin selling its brand-new battery-powered cargo vehicle. The new eSprinter wears remarkably identical sheet metal to the gas-powered Sprinters that have been trundling around the United States for years. It will take a keen eye to distinguish between the two. But underneath, Mercedes has created an entirely new architecture that houses a 113-kWh battery that is situated in the eSprinter’s belly and an electric motor that powers the back wheels. The official U.S. range number is likely to be significantly lower. However, it will still be more than adequate for companies like Amazon, DHL, and the like to deliver the products to your door—certainly a lot more discretely.
What’s New?
The 2024 model year’s all-new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is scheduled to be on sale in the second half of 2023. Launched as a long van with a high roofline, the eSprinter will have 488 cubic feet of cargo space, which is comparable to the standard Sprinter’s capacity. Since it’s a Mercedes, it probably has a more upscale interior than the Ford E-Transit, which is its major rival. A heated windscreen, heated front seats, electric folding outside mirrors, air conditioning, an electronic sliding door, and step, a digital rearview mirror, and more features are available to make delivery life more comfortable.
Mercedes-Benz eSprinter Motor, Battery, Range & Performance
There is a more potent 201-hp variant of the eSprinter in addition to the standard 134-hp rear-wheel drive electric motor. The eSprinter’s undercarriage, between the front and rear axles, has a 113-kWh battery pack. Regardless of the power output you select, the eSprinter is only capable of a top speed of 75 miles per hour. This is good for us considering how some delivery workers operate their vehicles. Although the official EPA range estimate has not yet been made public, we anticipate that it will be in the neighborhood of 200 miles per charge. According to Mercedes, a DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in as little as 42 minutes. A typical 240-volt outlet will take more than 12 hours to fully charge a completely discharged battery.
Dimensions & Space
The eSprinter will include Mercedes-Benz’s most recent infotainment system, which includes voice control assistance. In addition to voice instructions, the system may be managed through touch-sensitive buttons mounted on the steering wheel, a touchscreen, and a touchpad. A 10.3-inch touchscreen display will be optional, and cloud-based services will also be available.

Although Mercedes-Benz hasn’t yet disclosed official pricing information. We anticipate the eSprinter to be more expensive than its cousin powered by an internal combustion engine. Two USB-C ports, a load-adaptive electronic stability control system, and a heated driver’s seat are all included as standard features.
