BMW is ready to launch the BMW iX1 electric SUV in India on September 28, expanding its electric lineup in the country. The iX1 boasts a combined power output of 313hp and 494Nm of torque. It impressively offers a claimed range of 440km, showcasing BMW’s commitment to electrification in the Indian market. This introduction follows the recent launch of the new X1, making the iX1 the fourth electric model in BMW’s India lineup.
BMW iX1 Design
The BMW iX1, much like the ICE X1, comes with distinctive blue accents on the bumpers, side steps, and grille. It gets an enlarged kidney grille, inverted-L-shaped dual LED DRLs in the headlights, stylish alloy wheels, and sleek LED taillights. These design touches differentiate the electric X1 while maintaining its recognizable SUV aesthetics.

The iX1 boasts a tech-forward interior with a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a digital instrument cluster. It also offers convenient features like a wireless charger, multi-zone climate control, and cruise control. This enables it to go from 0-100kph in just 5.6 seconds. With a claimed range of 440km and a top speed of 180km, the iX1 offers both performance and efficiency. Additionally, it sources power from a 64.7kWh battery unit that drives a dual-motor setup. This results in a total power output of 313bhp and 494Nm of torque, ensuring a brisk acceleration time of 5.3 seconds for the zero to 100kmph sprint. All-wheel drive comes standard, enhancing its dynamic capabilities.

The BMW iX1 is anticipated to be competitively priced in the range of Rs 60 lakh to Rs 65 lakh, positioning it as one of the more affordable electric BMW models available in India. The BMW iX1 is likely to offer a range of variants with prices ranging from Rs 60.00 lakh to Rs 62.00 lakh, providing customers with options to choose from based on their preferences and requirements.
