Ford BlueCruise Gets New Hands-Free Lane Change Feature

Ford revealed its BlueCruise driver-assist system back in 2021 with selected vehicles. With the new version 1.2 upgrade, Ford cars gets a new hands-free lane change abilities. After this feature, selected Ford cars will have the same functionality as the Lincoln’s ActiveGlide system.

Ford BlueCruise system with lane change will launch officially this fall of 2022. The 2023 Mustang Mach-E is currently the first Ford-badged car to take advantage of this feature firsthand. Ford didn’t mention any other details as to which cars will be eligible for the upgrade. According to Motor1, a spokesperson said more information about Ford’s upcoming feature will be shared after the launch.

It will offer a predictive speed assist feature to adjust the speeds according to the roads ahead. After the new upgrade, the system will alert the driver when it changes the speed depending on the situation. With the heavy focus on self-driving and other features will improve the Ford Bluecruise and ActiveGlide systems further. The improvements will commence with more improved lane change features and improved hands-free driving smoothly. The company says its Bluecruise system works on 130,000 miles of highways. Ford and Lincoln’s 75,000 owners have already enrolled for the service when the feature will be available for the F-150 and Mustang Mach-E.
