Overview
The iconic Maverick name was originally used in 1970 for a compact car but now Ford revived this name with new small pickup truck. It shares its platform with the Bronco Sport and parts with mid-size Ranger. It comes with good payload capacity and optional turbo four engine. But the base variant offered with very basic features. It is available with a hybrid powertrain with 2.5-litre engine and an electric motor and 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Ford offers Maverick in three variants and two powertrain options. The features include 8.0-touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, B&O stereo system, wireless mobile charging, cruise control and power lock for tailgate.
Safety features offered are automated emergency braking as a standard, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control as an optional.

Engine, Top Speed, 0-60 mph & Performance
The Ford Maverick comes in two engine options such as 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine assisted by an electric motor generating 191HP mated to 8-speed continuous variable transmission with only front-wheel drivetrain. Now moving towards the more powerful non-hybrid 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine making out 250 HP mated to 8-speed CVT with either front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain. The non-hybrid variant able to cross 0-60 MPH speed in 5.9 seconds and have a top speed of 110 mph. It has the optional towing package of 4000 pounds which quite less as compared to core rival Hyundai Santa Crus which has 5000 pounds.
