The midsize SUV segment in the Indian automobile market remains highly competitive and immensely popular. New offerings are set to join this thriving category in 2024 that will capture the attention of customers. In this article, we’ll talk about the four upcoming affordable SUVs that are set to hit the Indian market.
1. Tata Harrier Petrol
The Tata Harrier is another popular midsize SUV from Tata Motors and has thus far been exclusively available with a diesel engine in India. However, Tata is gearing up to introduce a petrol engine variant. This version will feature a 1.5 GDI petrol engine developed by Tata Motors in collaboration with its subsidiary, Tata Technology. The petrol variant of the Harrier will offer both manual and automatic transmission options.
2. Tata Curvv ICE
Tata Motors introduced the Tata Curvv as a concept coupe SUV in April 2022. This vehicle is built on the Gen 2 platform and boasts a dynamic and modern design. Notable exterior features include a raised bumper, triangular headlamps, sleek LED DRLs, and a distinctive floating C pillar. The interior of the Tata Curvv offers a spacious and futuristic design, complete with a panoramic glass roof, dual-screen dashboard, and premium upholstery.
3. Hyundai Creta Facelift
The Hyundai Creta is India’s best-selling mid-size SUV and is all set to receive a facelift in early 2024. This facelift brings forth notable cosmetic changes, including a fresh front grille, bumper, headlamps, and alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, expect a revamped dashboard, new upholstery, and enhanced features. The vehicle will be available with three engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The price for the Hyundai Creta Facelift in India will commence at just Rs 11 lakh.
4. Tata Safari Petrol
The Tata Safari is a premium flagship SUV from Tata Motors, it shares its platform with the Tata Harrier. This SUV accommodates seven passengers and is currently offered exclusively with a diesel engine in India. Tata Motors is planning to introduce a petrol engine option for the Safari as well, featuring a 1.5-litre GDI petrol engine.
