The current Hyundai Exter is available with two engine options. It features a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol Kappa engine that delivers 82 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque. This engine comes paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT. Additionally, there is a 1.2-litre CNG engine variant that makes 67 bhp of power and 95 Nm of torque. The upcoming Hyundai Exter EV will have a range of approximately 400 Km and will make power figures of around 130-150 hp. While there is no official confirmation from Hyundai yet, the electric Exter will offer excellent performance.

The Hyundai Exter offers various premium features that give it the characteristics of a premium SUV. These features include a large touchscreen infotainment display with support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. More features include automatic climate control, a wireless charger, steering controls, automatic outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), six airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, and more. According to reports, the electric version of the Exter will include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) safety features.

Launch and Price

The Hyundai Exter EV is expected to be launched early next year. The electric Exter will cost around Rs. 10 lakh. The subcompact SUV will compete with the upcoming Tata Punch Electric, set for launch next year. The current Exter costs between Rs. 6.72 lakh and Rs. 11.67 lakh making it an affordable choice in the SUV category.

Hyundai’s entry into the electric SUV market with the Exter EV is expected to offer a compelling option for customers looking for an electric SUV with great performance and premium features at a competitive price point.
