If you want to make road trip with 4-adult, then you must opt a subcompact crossover Kia Soul as it has specious cabin space due to its boxy shape and larger boot space to fit your all cargo. It is offered with two engine options such as 147 HP four-cylinder and 201 HP turbocharged four-cylinder engine. But this drivetrain doesn’t deliver good fuel efficiency due to Soul’s boxy design and even all-wheel drivetrain is also missing. You have to opt a top-end variant for some basic driver assistance features.

What’s new For 2022?
For 2022, the Kia’s logo has been changed and the manual transmission has been discontinued. The 10.3-inch infotainment system with in-built navigation is available from the seconds-base variant. The top-end X-Line and GT-Line gets the wireless smartphone charging, USB ports, push-button start and dual-zone climate control.

It gets some convenient features such as 8.0 or 10.3-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charging pad, in-dash navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio and 6-speaker audio system.
Soul scored 4-star safety rating according to NHTSA. It offered some safety features such as lane departure warning with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning with automated emergency braking.

Powertrain
Kia Soul is available with two engine configurations such as 2.0-litre four-cylinder generates 147 HP and mated to continuous variable transmission (CVT) and another 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes 201 HP and paired to 7-speed automatic transmission. The non-turbo 2.0-litre engine does 0 to 60 MPH in 8.0 seconds while the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine does the same 6.4 seconds and have a top speed of 128 mile per hour. Both the powertrains are peppier and delivers excellent power.

Fuel efficiency
According to EPA, the Kia Soul with 2.0-litre engine delivers 27 mpg in city and 30 mpg on the highway while 1.6-litre engine delivers 27 mpg in city and 32 mpg on the highway.
