Maruti Swift, Ignis & S-Presso Got 1 Star GNCAP Rating

Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ignis And S-Presso Got Only One Star GNCAP Rating For Both Adult And Child Protection

After the test of Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun receiving five star rating in Global NCAP updated crash test. The 2nd round is for Mahindra Scorpio N and three models of Maruti Suzuki in which Mahindra Scorpio scored all five stars and become one of the safest full size off-road SUV in India. But the three models of Maruti Suzuki failed in the test and got only one star rating in Global NCAP crash test rating. Really disappointing result from Maruti with all of its trio.

Under the #SaferCarsForIndia campaign today, Mahindra Scorpio N performed really nice with five star ratings in GNCAP. Where the Maruti Suzuki Swift get only one star for adult and one star for child. And even worst result for other two modes S-Presso and Ignis they get one star for adult safety and zero stars for child. All vehicle were tested in their basic safety specifications or features ABS (Anti-lock braking system) and frontal airbags. So if you’re travelling in one of these three vehicle then you should take care of yourself because you’re not in a safe vehicle.

The S-Presso and Ignis do not have Electronic Stability Control feature nor side curtain airbags as standard or even in optional equipment. They display whole unstable structure of the vehicle during frontal crash or testing. In case of Maruti Swift the frontal crash or impact of the vehicle shown the driver’s and front passenger’s head and neck are safe and good, where the driver’s chest to be harm a bit and showed weak protection and passenger’s showed adequate protection. If you look at the bottom part then the driver’s knee showed marginal protection where passenger’s left knee shown good protection.

Alejandro Furas, Secretary General of Global NCAP Said for Maruti Suzuki – “it is of great concern that the manufacturer with the largest market share in India, Maruti Suzuki, still offers such poorly performing models, which don’t even make some key safety systems available to consumers in India as optional equipment.
