Pravaig Interceptor Electric SUV Specifications and Details
Pravaig Dynamics, an Indian automotive manufacturer, has unveiled the Pravaig Interceptor, a robust off-road SUV designed exclusively for military. During the launch of the Pravaig Defy, the company introduced this vehicle, previously known as Pravaig Veer. The Interceptor is exclusively for use by the armed forces. Its utilitarian design includes a minimalistic structure with standard components like a rollbar, bonnet, fenders, and boot, omitting doors for the convenience of soldiers during entry and exit.
Pravaig Interceptor Features
The Pravaig Interceptor, boasts a range of safety features including six airbags, ABS & Electronic stability control, anti-theft alarm & immobilizer system, manual override mode, and an optional vehicle remote access. It also comes equipped with Electronic brake force distribution, an Intelligent tyre pressure monitoring system, and 3-point safety belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters. Additionally, it features a 360-degree camera with 12 ultrasonic sensors, adaptive LED headlights, and a 77GHz radar. For closed-cab versions, a HEPA air filter is available, all managed by a powerful MultiVAC computer system.
Design
The Interceptor offers military customization options for both its interior and exterior layout, including the possibility of a closed-cab design. With dimensions of 4940 mm in length, 1650 mm in height, and 950 mm in width, it provides ample space. Its wheelbase measures 3030 mm, and it boasts a substantial ground clearance of 280 mm. Pravaig plans to provide the Interceptor in 11 exterior paint options. This allows military units to choose from Moon Gray, Siachen Blue, Kaziranga Green, Emperor Purple, Hindigo, Shani Black, Vermillion Red, Haldi Yellow, Lithium, 5.56 Green, and Bordeaux.
Battery and Range
The Pravaig Interceptor gets a robust 90.9 kWh lithium-ion battery featuring up to five modules and 5000 hardcase cells. This advanced battery system incorporates innovative management software, facilitating over-the-air updates (OTA) to ensure optimal energy management over its extended lifespan of 250,000 kilometers. Notably, the Interceptor boasts rapid charging capabilities, with the ability to reach 80% charge in just 30 minutes. It has a remarkable range exceeding 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Performance
The Pravaig Interceptor has promising performance, with its dual motor configuration delivering 402bhp and 620Nm of torque. This powertrain propels the Interceptor from 0 to 100 kmph in a brisk 4.9 seconds, showcasing quick acceleration. It further exhibits an impressive top speed of 210 kmph, making it a potent contender in the electric SUV segment. Additionally, the availability of all-wheel drive (AWD) across models enhances its traction and control.
Pricing
The Pravaig Defy, a bold and sporty SUV with advanced features and a spacious interior, is currently in its prototype phase, with deliveries expected by the end of the following year. Pravaig has already begun accepting bookings for this impressive vehicle, with an initial payment of Rs 51,000. 800 reservations have already been secured, leading to a nine-month waiting period for a vehicle priced at Rs 39.5 lakh.
