The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross compact SUV stands somewhere between lower segment’s C-HR and upper segment’s RAV4. Surprisingly it has more boot space than the Corolla hatchback and a lot of driver assistance features. Corolla Cross sets the benchmark with its value for money standard against its core rivals such as Jeep Compass, Nissan Rogue Sport and Kia Seltos. Under the hood, it offers four-cylinder engine making 169 HP mated to either front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain.

In 2023, the hybrid powertrain joins the Corolla Cross’s lineup with all-wheel drivetrain option.

The features available are 7.0 and 8.0-inch display with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless charging and optional JBL speaker system,
The all-wheel drivetrain is available for an additional $1300 and some interior features include dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat.
The standard safety features available are automated emergency braking with pedestrian crossing, lane departure warning and lane keep assist.

The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross is powered by 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine generating 169 HP mated to continuous variable transmission with either front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain as an option. Its acceleration seems underpowered while raving with its unrefined engine. Still it manages to hit 0 to 60 MPH in 9.2 seconds and have a top speed of 113 mph. We’ll hope that in 2023 Toyota will improve Cross’s refinement with hybrid powertrain.

According to EPA, Toyota Corolla Cross with front-wheel drivetrain delivers 31 mpg in city and 33 mpg on highway while all-wheel drivetrain variant manages to earn 29 mpg in city and 32 mpg on highway.
