Maruti Suzuki Celebrates Milestone of Selling 10 Lakh Automatic Cars

Maruti Suzuki India has hit a milestone of selling over 10 lakh cars with automatic gearbox.

The automaker currently offers four types of automatic transmission in their 16 vehicles sold in the Indian market.

It includes Auto Gear Shift, 4-Speed Automatic, 6-speed Advanced Automatic Transmission, and an e-CVT gearbox.

Almost 65% of the cars are equipped with Maruti's AGS transmission while AT transmission equipped cars sales are 27%.

The company also sells e-CVT hybrid automatic transmission that accounts for 8% of the company sales.

The company sells its automatic options with a variety of cars - the AGS is offered on the entry-level cars while the AT is offered in the mid-tier Dzire, Brezza, Fronx and newer models.

The e-CVT transmission is offered on the company's high-end models such as the Grand Vitara and the Invicto.
