The X5 M is an ultra-performance SUV with the same twin-turbo V-8 as BMW’s most powerful sedan, the M5. 2023 BMW X5 M comes standard with his 600 horsepower, but adding the optional Competition Pack unlocks 17 more ponies and premium hardware like an M-Sport exhaust and sport seats. X5 M weighs in at 5489 pounds, but thanks to its balanced 50/50 weight distribution, it behaves surprisingly and controllably on even the most demanding street courses. Away from the track, the X5 M can comfortably seat up to five people thanks to its SUV size. Extensive standard equipment including Alcantara Headliner, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, huge 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen.

What’s New For 2023 BMW X5M?
The 2023 BMW X5 M Facelift has new headlights, a slightly modified kidney grille and a massive front bumper. The kidney grille doesn’t look bigger, but it could be attached to the illuminated grille found on newer BMWs. The headlights are slimmer and sportier than before, and the taillights have a more three-dimensional shape than the current car.
Engine, transmission & Performance
A monster hides under the hood of every X5 M. The 4.4-liter V8 lurking there has his two turbochargers feeding the air and can produce 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. In the competition pack he also adds 17 ponies. All X5 Ms have an 8-speed automatic transmission and variable all-wheel drive. In the latter case, the driver can choose between maximum traction on all four wheels or more agility with the rear bias in his track mode. Equipped with 21-inch wheels and adaptive dampers as standard equipment. But in the rear he has a 22-inch staggered wheel-set for those who want his wheel-set, this option is also available. (The large diameter rear wheel is included in the Competition package.) The 2 drivetrain of the Competition equipped model impresses with sports carlike cornering grip and breathtaking acceleration.

If you buy the X5 M, you can also spend an extra shekel on the performance-boosting Competition package. Along with the extra horsepower comes a noisier exhaust system, a dedicated track mode and larger rear wheels and tires as standard. It also brings better leather upholstery and added padding to the sides of the center console to prevent pinching your knees in hard turns.
