2023 Lexus LX is Lexus’s flagship SUV, which has been revamped for 2023. These tweaks include an upgraded interior and built on a modernized platform and powered by a twin-turbocharged engine. Based on the new Toyota Land Cruiser; which, unfortunately, will not be sold in the U.S. The LX600 has some serious off-road capability but doesn’t skimp over on the luxury. The previous gen came with a gnarly V8 engine, but the new version will make that with a 409-hp twin-turbo V6. The four-wheel drive remains standard and it can even be equipped with several off-road goodies as well. Also, this includes a height-adjustable suspension system. Lexus plastered the new LX600’s interior to compete with plusher contemporaries—large luxury SUVs such as the BMW X7, the Land Rover Range Rover, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-class.

What’s New In 2023 Lexus LX?
After 13 years of running with the same iconic design, the 2023 LX600 receives a ground-up redesign. The top-spec Ultra Luxury model is only offered as a four-seat layout, with dual captain’s chairs in the rear divided by a center console, plus rear-seat entertainment displays, wireless smartphone charging capability, and specially designed seats to maximize comfort.
Engine & Performance
The LX600 houses a new twin-turbocharged 3.4-Liter V6 engine that pumps out 409-hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission paired with four-wheel drive is standard. This powertrain is also offered in the new Toyota Land Cruiser, which shares its mechanical underpinnings with the LX. Given Lexus’s love for hybrid powertrains, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a gas-electric setup under the LX’s hood, similar to the one used in the 2022 Tundra pickup. However, so far the company has only revealed information on this non-hybrid powertrain. On the road, the twin-turbo V6 delivers enough power as well as a strained nature suitable for a luxury machine such as the LX. On testing, the LX600 managed a 6.1-second 0-60-mph time, which is more than enough for most drivers. Those swooning over some sports accents can consider the F Sport model and its more aggressively-tuned suspension.
Fuel Economy

The LX600 earned fuel economy ratings of 17 mpg city and 22 mpg highway from the EPA. The entry-level trim comes with room for five across in two rows of seats. While, the Premium, Luxury, and F Sport trims offer a third row of seats that increases passenger capacity to seven.

Premium | $96,345 |
F Sport | $102,345 |
Luxury | $104,345 |
Ultra Luxury | $127,345 |
We would recommend the mid-range Luxury trim, as it offers the best value here. It adds niceties such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, a Mark Levinson stereo system, and handsome 22-inch wheels, among other features. This luxury SUV is what, that rivals the Range Rover or top-spec models from BMW and Mercedes.
