All Details & Performance of 2023 Nissan Rogue
2023 Nissan Rogue Sport is the elder Rogue’s little brother. It boasts a lot of the same styling and features as the last-gen Rogue SUV. The Sport’s size puts it into the subcompact SUV class competing with rivals such as the Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, and the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The Rogue Sport which fits into the narrow niche between the wee Kicks and the Rogue is the latest of the Japanese automaker’s models to receive a redesign. While this compact crossover has a more quaint name (Qashqai) in Europe, many things regarding it, including its sharp styling can carry over to our market. But one thing that won’t, though, is the hybrid powertrain. The U.S. models are anticipated to feature a gasoline-powered four-cylinder engine. At least the Jap will offer buyers the option of front- or all-wheel drive.
What’s New?
The cabin is spacious and sturdy, and the design is timeless, suitable for a mature audience. Passengers will have no problem with the space they need, but it lacks standard amenities like rear-seat charging ports, but it is optional for $80. The top-trim SL’s interior is handsome and luxurious too. The Rogue Sport’s seating position is elevated, providing a captain’s deck view of the road ahead. The storage capacity is enough to satisfy heavy shoppers and is practical. The base model offers a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with uncomplicated software. Safety features like automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard.
Engine & Performance
The Rogue Sport doesn’t have the performance for its name, rather it should be named Rogue Relaxed. Perky around the city, but the Sport quickly runs out of air when accelerating to highway speeds. And it’s not rated for towing. The four-cylinder lying away under the Rogue Sport’s hood makes 141 horsepower and is paired with a CVT. The CVT lets the engine rev up to the higher rpm at the slightest prod of the throttle and then holds it there as the car accelerates. The engine could be more refined, but it’s still class-appropriate, and the CVT has predetermined “shift” points. The Sport’s average handling, braking, and acceleration won’t excite driving enthusiasts. The ride quality is smooth and refined cruising appeals to consumers searching for a subcompact crossover. The car has a top speed of 112 mph, with a 0-60 mph run time of 10.0 seconds.
