2023 Porsche 911 GT3 and the all-out track-attacking GT3 RS are utterly supreme, blending everything one loves about the standard 911. This increased downforce will result in additional drags at a higher speed. But Porsche uses a Formula 1 technique viz. drag reduction system (DRS) to counter this situation. This driver-activated DRS stalls the wing to reduce drag at higher speeds. It is only available in seven-speed PDK automatic transmission. Though the top speed gets slightly reduced to 184 mph from 198 mph of the standard GT3.
2023 Porsche GT3 RS Engine & Performance
The GT3 RS, which joins the lineup this year, gets tuned up to 518 horsepower and comes with all manner of aero elements that create massive downforce to it stick it to the road. Including an outrageous rear wing that incorporates a drag-reduction system similar to those on Formula 1 race cars. The newly attached camshaft profiles specific to GT3 RS enabled Porsche to enhance the characteristics of the existing 4.0L flat-six. This engine grants an extra 15 horses, whereas its 0-60 mph still figures out to be 3.0 seconds. The brakes are the same as that of the standard GT3, while the 16.1 X 1.4-inch iron front discs are 0.1 inches thicker. Standard forged aluminum wheels are present, wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2–or stickier Cup R–tires. The Weissach package opens up the magnesium wheels option. Porsche released a separate configurator for GT3 RS where you can personalize one.

The EPA has rated the 911 GT3 at 15 mpg city and 18 mpg highway when equipped with the automatic transmission. Going with the manual transmission drops the city figure to 14 mpg.

The same aero theme continues downwards, where teardrop-shaped control arms on the front axle improve wheel-well airflow. All the loads distribute over a broader axle, thanks to the wider tires and longer control arms. Compression and rebound stages of front and rear dampers can be adjusted individually via steering-wheel controls. It also has a wider front track (up 1.1 inches over the GT3).

As from the last gen, Porsche offers two slightly different versions of the “standard” GT3, the basic winged model and a Touring variant that tones down the racy look by dumping the big rear wing. And then there’s the hard-core GT3 of them all, the RS. It’s hard to pick just one of the trio to recommend as they’re all incredible cars, but our hearts belong to the absurd GT3 RS. The infotainment system found on the regular 911 finds its way into the GT3 version. That means a 10.9-inch touchscreen inhabits the center of the dashboard.
