Overview
2022 Chevy Corvette C8 still offers the industry’s best bang for the buck. This new C8 has received a mid-engined revamp, and it was so exciting. Finally, an American mid-engined performance car is within the reach of every average buyer also. The C8’s design caused some dismay with the angular, showy exterior and the unique interior that cocoons the driver in an ergonomically deficient cockpit.
What’s New?
The maxed-out Corvette Stingray is equipped with the 3LT and Z51 options, plus the Magnetic Selective Ride Control Suspension (Mag Ride) and even a front-axle lift setup. All these goodies bump on almost an additional 50% over a base Corvette, resulting in a total of $88,225. The 6.2L LT2 V8 features dry-sump lubrication to avoid oil deficiency during extreme cornering and offers 495 hp. An additional improvement of 5 hp from the “base” model’s 490 horses is all possible from Z51’s upgraded exhaust. The peak torque is 649 Nm, allowing the 0-60 time under three seconds. This is mated with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle, along with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.

Design & Features
When the Mag Ride is set to the most aggressive mode, the set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 305 millimeters at the rear gains enough confidence to push the throttle more while coming out of apexes than recommended. But the best thing is, that the Mag Ride can also be softened for city driving. All the various pre-sets are in a strange dial control covered with leather, the gauge cluster is pretty smooth. Also, there is a Z button on the steering wheel to push all options to their most extreme levels.

The Z06’s smoothed-over exterior design and serious power in such an impressive chassis inspire the other models too. The C8’s front and rear trunks have solid storage capacity and is a pretty nice car for being a daily driver.
