2023 Honda Insight is the spiritual and mechanical successor to the Civic hybrid. It sports a similar size and shape as Japanese Marque’s compact sedan but with more fuel efficiency. An efficient gas-electric powertrain lies under the hood, making the Insight like a Civic that’s quieter at low revs and delivers better mileage. There are a lot of Civic’s best aspects is available here. This includes a comfortable ride, a pleasant interior, and accurate steering. Here, one would need to make a slight sacrifice in acceleration, and it can get pretty noisy when you step on it. But anyways, it’s still a pleasant-looking sedan that doesn’t cost more than non-hybrid rivals and will save you some bills at the pump. The Insight’s battery pack is placed under the rear seat, making no infringes on cargo capacity at all. The rear seats also fold flat to accommodate even larger items.

2023 Honda Insight Engine & Performance
The Insight scores better marks than most hybrids for balancing brisk acceleration while sacrificing fuel economy. It is about as quick as many traditionally powered compact cars. The combination of ICE and electric motors delivers a combined 151-hp, making it jump from 0-60 mph in 7.7 seconds. It’s electric motor runs alone for roughly one mile at lower speeds but upon request, spry acceleration, the gasoline engine kicks in seamlessly. The engine sound might start getting loud under hard acceleration, but the powertrain is otherwise quiet and refined. Surprisingly, Insight is an exceedingly pleasant vehicle to drive. It is quiet, comfortable, and refined, and it handles confidently. Although it’s not sporty, the Insight has a well-maintained ride and solid handling. Its soft suspension absorbs bumps well, and its quick steering helps it change direction energetically. The Insight’s brakes are just as vigorous as a traditional, gas-powered vehicle’s.

Pricing of Honda Insight
2023 Honda Insight Trims | Price (USD) |
EX | $26,885 |
Touring | $30,885 |
We would recommend the EX variant as it starts at $26,205 and includes a good amount of standard equipment. So, it would be better to pass on the more expensive Touring model. The EX is also rated to deliver better fuel economy owing to its lower weight and smaller wheels. As the base LX trims are no longer available, it made it quite easy for us to recommend this variant.
