Recently Mercedes Announced that they will built a 100 Megawatt wind farm at Papenburg Test Track in Northern Germany that will cover more then fifteen percent of its annual electricity usage. That’s how they’re gonna save money and planet at the same time. Head of Mercedes production and supply chain management Jorg Burz said – “The targeted expansion of renewable energies at our own locations is an integral part of our sustainability strategy,”

Not just this, Mercedes is planning to add solar panels to the location to serve its further power needs. All these additions are part of Mercedes Sustainability Goals. The company is focused to cover its 70% of energy requirements from renewables sources by 2030 and by 2025 they are investing millions of pounds in expanding Solar Panels so that they can fulfill their power requirements from this.

Burz Said – “We make an active contribution to the energy transition and the expansion of onshore wind power in Germany,”. Mercedes is gradually decreasing its external energy requirements by applying photovoltaic system on the roof of plant.

By 2030 Mercedes will stop taking 70% of external energy and start producing itself. And this is how Mercedes will contribute saving environment and save funds over buying energy from external resources.
