Overview
The latest BMW X6 M was spotted at the Nürburgring with minimum amount of disguise during its pre-production tests. Leaving only the the front area, all the other parts of the entire vehicle are now camo-free for the latest round of evaluations. There are no significant design changes, while there are some points worth talking.
Surely, the main twist will be at the front where the camouflage foil covers the bumper, headlights, grille, and sections of hood. Most probably, the main eye-catching change will be the new slimmer headlights and little changed kidney grille setup between them. At lower part, bumper will be equipped with the modified lower openings that are more narrow than in the current model.
Although, the rear end is free from any camouflage, it seems that company won’t touch the design at rear end. The reason behind this could be the diffuser, and quad exhaust arrangement. The headlights, and exhaust arrangement is same as that in current BMW X6 M on sale. However, it cannot be confirmed that BMW design team is also going make any change in the taillights.
We couldn’t catch the interior view of this prototype but it seems that dashboard could be covered with camouflage. This provide us hint that this performance SUV will receive the latest BMW infotainment setup and iDrive 8 software. Other minimal revisions inside the cabin are likely, too.
Talking about the performance, we don’t expect many big changes to V8 under the hood. This means that X6 M will have a 4.4L 600 hp engine in standard form and 617 hp in Competition guise. The debut of this prototype could be near. The unveiling of facelifted X6 M could be done in the year 2023 or 2024. The company haven’t told anything yet about the price of this car.
