BMW’s New 2023 M4 CSL Limited Edition has recorded the fastest time ever for a series-production BMW around the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife circuit. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the M division, the latest model is mated with old-school racing passion with latest of the tech. Inspired by a legendary vehicle, here is the limited edition.
What’s New?
The M4 CSL sports both high power and reduced weight along with a track-focused character, which is greatly inspired by the legendary BMW 3.0 CSL. The curb weight of the M4 is just 3,582 lbs which is made possible by replacing typical components for the exterior and interior, powertrain, and chassis with lightweight model-specific alternatives. The M division also removed the rear seats, with modified the BMW kidney grille, rear lights, and floor mats.

The new color scheme with red-painted edges and exposed CRFP channels on the hood, red accent lines on the “double bubble” CFRP roof. Also, the “CSL” badging on the front splitter and a BMW kidney grille with fewer slats and wide spaces sets the M4 CSL apart. The car also features 50 Years emblems on the hood, trunk lid, and wheel center caps. The car comes in Alpine White or Black Sapphire metallic finish, and an optional Frozen Brooklyn Grey metallic exterior paint. Limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide.

Engine & Performance
Under the hood lies a twin-turbo inline six-cylinder S58 engine which generates 543 hp and 650 Nm of torque supplied to the rear wheels mated with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. The chassis rides on exclusive forged M light-alloy wheels in a cross-spoke design, with M Carbon ceramic brakes. For the performance part, the M4 CSL can hit 0-60 mph in 3.6 Seconds with a top speed of 191 mph.

When you step inside, the interior comes with model-exclusive M Carbon full bucket seats, trimmed with black Merino leather along with red Alcantara inserts. The seat bolsters and belts feature contrast stitching in the colors of BMW M. Heated M Carbon bucket seats are available. The M4 CSL also features a CRFP center console structure, an M Alcantara steering wheel, Carbon Fiber interior trim, and “CSL” badging all over.
