Estrema Fulminea is an EV hypercar that is breaking barriers. Automobili Estrema is a niche Italian brand and was founded as recently as 2020. The brand primarily focuses on high-end supercars and electric hypercars and with its first electric hypercar for the road, it knows its way up the competition. The Fulminea sports the latest technologies and super lightweight composite materials.
What’s New?
The brand’s logo is a blue shield reflecting the historical tradition of the coats of arms from the past, brought to modern life. The shield consists of a lightning bolt: a symbol of electricity, speed, and clean energy, piercing through it with all its power. The lightning bolt features the colors of the Italian flag and is made of polished steel.

Like any other hypercar, it looks extremely desirable with its streamlined aerodynamic silhouette. The carbon fiber adds more aggressiveness and persona to its angular body panels. With the front fascia, it looks like it is made to cut the wind. The rear profile has the looks of a futuristic movie. The weight has been inspired by the fastest creatures in the world. The tail is long and slender, just like the peregrine falcon, and the silhouette reflects the muscles and ribcage of a cheetah. The rear features the shape of a shark fin, which is spot-on.

The color, ‘Azzuro Savoia‘ is Automobili Estrema’s signature color that has been inspired by the beautiful shades of azurite crystals which blends well with the carbon fiber. The headlights have LED/Laser technology embedded into them.

Engine & Performance
The Fulminea sports is one of the most sophisticated technologies in the automotive industry, particularly how quickly EVs are taking over. The hybrid battery pack technology combines ultracapacitors with solid-state Li-ion cells in a single-performance super battery; an industry-first. These ultracapacitors have the highest specific power, which matches the solid-state Li-ion cells. The cells have an energy density of 500 Wh/kg, which is unmatched.

The two cells are housed in separate, high-strength battery packs with carbon fiber shells. The ultra capacitors are placed on the front axle, while the bigger battery pack, is placed behind the cockpit achieving the best center of gravity distribution. The car features a 100kWh battery, that produces 2,040 hp, weighs 3,300 pounds, and can sprint from 0-200mph in just 10 seconds with AWD.

Verdict
Although the brand Estrema is new, compared to others, it had done its homework, and come up with an incredible and mind-blowing product. Estrema Fulminea’s prime competitors are the Lotus Evija EV and Rimac Nevera.
