Overview
Hwang Dong-hyuk is a South Korean film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born in Seoul, South Korea on May 26, 1971. He is a great fan of comic books and spent hours reading them in childhood.
Hwang graduated from Seoul National University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications. Doing his master’s in Film Production at the University of Southern California, he made a few films Heaven & Hell, Desperation, and Miracle Mile. Silenced is the movie that got him fame. Later with Netflix, he made a survival drama Squid Game which is one of the most watched series on Netflix.
