Michael R. Jackson was born on January 26, 1981 in Detroit, Michigan. A playwright by profession, Michael is also a composer and lyricist. Michael R. Jackson has written lyrics for several films and plays including Teeth, The Kids on the Lawn, Only Children, and A Strange Loop. In 2020, he received the Tony Award for Best Musical and 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his musical “A Strange Loop”. Michael’s other awards include Lambda Literary Award for Drama, Obie Award, Whiting Award, and Drama Desk Award.
