Tata Motors is working on a new 2.2-liter Diesel engine which it plans to offer with the Tata Harrier and Safari models. Considering the brand’s popularity and growing loyal customer base, the sales are positive for all of its cars.
About:
The Indian automaker has been caught testing its upcoming Harrier and Safari car with performance upgrades. We expect that Tata will bring more new advanced features to its lineups like ADAS and other driver-assist features. Apart from the visual upgrades, the automaker is planning to bring performance upgrades to the brand’s lineup. The company is allegedly working on a new set of engines to power the upcoming Harrier and Safari.
Tata Motors is working on a BSVI-compliant engine that will come with Lean NOx Trap and a diesel filter with Adblue. We don’t know whether the new engines will pack more power than the current versions but we hope they would. The current-gen Tata Harrier and Safari come with Kryotec diesel engines that make 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. They come paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The new 2.2-liter diesel and 1.5-liter petrol engines will replace the current 2.0-liter engines. The new engines could make over 160 PS of power as the current gen Nexon that makes 120 PS of power.
