Overview
Japan is a place of wonderful automobile manufacturers and their vehicles. They have been building outstanding cars for many years now and Japan began expanding their production in the 1990s. There are quite a lot of impressive vehicles that are being exported from Japan to the United States. And a few vehicles are kept within the country limited to the domestic market. Here are a few such Japanese Domestic Market cars that can be imported to the United States.
1. Honda Civic Type-R (EK9)
This vehicle holds a 1.6-liter turbocharged flat 4-cylinder engine that is capable of delivering a maximum power output of 182 hp at 8,200 rpm and 160 N⋅m at 7,500 rpm. This vehicle can rev from 0-60 mph in 6.7 sec and can cover a 1/4 mile distance in 15.3 sec. The vehicle’s top speed is 140 mph.
2. Toyota Century II (G50)
This 1967 vehicle has a 5.0-liter 1GZ-FE V12 engine that is capable of generating a power output of 275hp at 5200 rpm and 481 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The company stopped its production in 2016. The vehicle has a maximum speed of 130.49 mph.
3. Nissan Laurel (C35)
This vehicle came in four different engine variations ranging from 2.0L to 2.8L in displacement. And all come to a four-speed automatic transmission and three-speed automatic transmission. The company stopped the car’s production in 2002. Eight generations were produced for Nissan Laurel. And this is the last generation of it.
4. Toyota Aristo
This vehicle from the 90s was the first luxury saloon of Toyota. This vehicle has a 3-liter, straight six-cylinder twin-turbo 2JZ-GTE engine. The vehicle was last produced in 2007. This vehicle can actually reach a top speed of 155 mph and can accelerate from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds.
5. Mitsubishi FTO
This vehicle came into production in 1994 and ended in 2000. This is a compact sports car with 98.4 in wheelbase and a curb weight of 2,425–2,668 lb. This vehicle has three different engines. 1.8L flat-four cylinder ,and two different 2.0L V6 engines. The transmission is a 5-speed manual, or 5-speed automatic, or 4-speed automatic.

6. Toyota Celica SS III
This vehicle has a 2.0-liter normally-aspirated 3S inline-four cylinder engine. The engine is capable of producing a power output of 140 hp at 6,000 RPM and a torque of 137 lb-ft at 4,400 RPM. This vehicle can accelerate from 0-06mph in 7.0 seconds and have a five-speed manual transmission.

7. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV
This vehicle released in 1996 as a fourth generation. And it became very popular because of its performance. The engine is a 2.0 L 4G63T I4 Turbocharged engine. That is capable of generating a power output of 276 hp at 6,500 rpm and 330 N⋅m torque at 4,000 rpm. This vehicle has a 5-speed manual transmission.

8. Honda NSX Type S
This vehicle made its first appearance in 1990. Thi vehicle has a 3.2-literDOHC VTEC V6 liquid-cooled engine that is capable of generating a power output of 276hp. This vehicle is rear-wheel drive and has a 4-speed automatic transmission.
