The Toyota Prius Prime is powered by 1.8-litre inline four-cylinder engine assisted by an electric motor and mated to continuous variable transmission (CVT). Prius Prime is comfortable for city driving with driving modes such as Power, Eco and Normal. Its driving behavior is not that much engaging and quicker in any mode and lacks of fun to drive element. It took 5.5 hours to recharge battery with standard 120-volt power outlet and 2 hours with optional 240-volt power outlet. This vehicle can go from 0-60 in 7.1 seconds and have a top speed of 112 mph.

According to EPA, the 2022 Toyota Prius Prime delivers 55 mpg in city while 53 mpg on highway. It can cover 25 miles with electric only mode.
