October will mark the dawn of the end for BMW’s M-badged internal combustion engined cars. The 2023 BMW M2 (G87) will be the final offering from the company’s performance division before the electrification starts. The upcoming BMW M2 was catching attention for the past months and has created a lot of hype. The coupe will feature an improved rear wing, center exhaust tips, and new bronze wheels for better aerodynamics.
When is the launch?
According to bmwblog, the upcoming M2 launch is set for October 11 (12 in Europe) as a 2023 model. The M-badged coupe will hit production at BMW’s San Luis Potosi Plant in Mexico. The deliveries of the sports coupe are expected for next spring. We are not certain whether the coupe will feature BMW xDrive or not. We do know that the M2 will come with a single rear-wheel drive variant. The 2023 BMW M2 will combine the M4’s thrilling engine packed in a compact luxury design and is a gift to all enthusiasts.
Engine Specifications & Performance:
We estimate the 2023 BMW M2 will feature a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that will make over 450 horsepower. We expect the car to go towards the M4’s philosophy with a lightweight engine and a compact body design. Paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. The car could accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 4.0 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. We also expect a potential CS/ or CSL with more power and more thrilling performance within the next few years. The M2 will feature more design upgrades like lowered chassis with tuned suspensions, wider track upgrades, and centered quad-exhausts.
Pricing
The 2023 BMW M2 will start at an estimated price of around $65,000 with its 450-hp six-cylinder engine and endless amount of thrill. BMW will offer three exterior paint options – Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey, and Toronto Red with the M2.
