2022 Mustang Mach 1, A Car That Has a Special Place In Our Hearts.

Overview

When the first-gen Mustang model got the Mach 1 name it was introduced as a concept model. It was given a hatchback design. Its design was very different from what we see now. It was a concept of course. In 1969 they delivered the package and what a package it was. Mach 1 was the only mass-produced model at that time. The other models named BOSS302, BOSS 429, and Shelby were made in limited quantity and were pricey as well. Mach 1 was the only affordable option.

1969 Mach 1 was perfect in every aspect. 1969 model had good styling and technology and had raw power. It is still in demand by many in-car communities. It was in production till 1973. Then Mach 1 was also produced for the 1974-1978 model years. Then ford got silent for some years and then came with a bang and produced powerful 2003-2004 models.

After that Mach 1 came back in 2021. It was very special for everyone cause of Mach 1 history. Now in 2022, they updated the model and added some necessary cool features that were missing from the previous year’s model. That’s why it should be driven by every person who calls himself a car lover.

Changes That Makes Mach 1 Special

This Mustang just looks very different from other variants. There is Mach 1 sticker and badging all around the car. You get a rear diffuser at the back, not the fake one. Four big exhausts are sneaking out. All of them are functional. Mach 1 gets a 19-inch unique alloy wheels design. It has the same Mustang design though, Nothing revolutionary. There are vents for air intake on the bonnet which also adds to the coolness of the car no I mean awesome kind of coolness not freezing kind of coolness. You get my point right?.

Mach 1 gets the front splitter which gets reduced at a higher speed to maintain the balance of the car and give the driver a good feel while driving the car. It gets some chassis upgrade. Its front springs are now stiffened and recalibrated dampers. It also gets bigger brakes. There is a fin underneath the car from where some air will blow to cool down the brakes. That is some hot business. And yes being a Mustang it has a feature called line lock which holds the front brake and let go of the rear brakes so you can do a burnout and do the environment dirty.

It gets a naturally aspirated 5.0 V8 that produces 460hp thanks to its ECU remap and its new air intake system. It is mated with 6 speed manual and option of 10-speed automatic transmission but we gear head know nothing feels like a manual. Ooh, that feeling of holding a stick, how thicker it gets at the top. Sorry, that sounded so wrong.

Its manual transmission gets the rev-matching technology. It just spoils the fun of driving a manual and shifting gears. That is just no fun at all. How is this even acceptable. And the worst part is that some gear head loves that feature. Those who want that feature please just get the automatic transmission. And those who don’t want that worthless feature don’t get sad, Ford has given us the option to turn off that feature.

Driving feel and Features     

First thing after getting inside the car you will notice its gear knob which is like a cue- ball. That feels so good to hold. Its 12-inch instrument cluster is good and shows some useful information. It gets dual-zone climate control, and a six-way power driver’s seat adjustable so it doesn’t matter if you are a short king or short queen, Ford has done equality here. Keyless entry and push-button start are expected at this price point. It got an 8-inch infotainment system that is smooth enough to use. Features like heated seats ventilated front seats, driver’s seat memory function, leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, and aluminum foot pedals are only limited to the Premium variant.

The gear is nice to use it got a nice sporty feel to it, it is not tiresome. This Mach 1 has an adaptive suspension that helps in getting a good driving feel, good for your bottom. When taking it through a narrow road you can get yourself into a problem cause of its long bonnet and it has a large turning circle of 12.2 meters obviously cause it is a long car. But don’t worry everyone is going to give you respect cause Mustang Mach 1 it is. Seats also play a major role in making them comfortable.

This Great Mach 1 drinks a great amount of fuel. It gives mileage of 21 miles per gallon. Its throttle response is quick and crisp. Its naturally aspirated engine is not going to disappoint you. The steering has a nice feel to it. Claimed 0-100 km is in 4.8 sec.

So, we can tell how awesome and special this car is. It is built to Impress and is a head-turner. I know all Mustangs are cool but this Mach 1 just takes that coolness to whole another level.
