The 2022 Rivian R1 S is not but a R1 T turned into a full size seven seater SUV while carrying the same specs inside. And this all electric SUV is the answer to the Tesla Model X. Carrying that same futuristic design and minimal approach forward like the R1 T , the new R1 S is for the audience who aren’t for that high truck enthusiasm and feel and wanted to experience that same amount of thrill with crazy acceleration and great ride capabilities which the R1 T delivers.

What’s New ?

Just like the brand, it’s new R1 S is also new to the auto industry. And both the R1 S and the R1 T are up on the road and deliveries since the end of the last year. It is said to feature an “Explore” trim which will be cheaper than the Tesla Model X.

The new R1S, though carries a full size SUV looks outside, inside it shares the same sets of feature and specs like it’s pickup cousin. It comes with a Quad motor setup which makes an enormous 800 hp and 900 lb ft of torque and can go the same 0-60 mph in a crazy 3.0 seconds and will have a top speed of 125 mph. And just as you expect from a SUV, the new R1S also successfully be able to deliver a crisp and phenomenal driving experience on road with great off road capabilities and a great amount of thrill with it’s all electric drivetrain which could make your heart race.

The new Rivian R1S will carry two battery pack capacities. A 135 kWh and a 180 kWh battery packs which will deliver a claimed range of 300 and 400 miles. And also support DC fast charging capabilities with upto 210 kW and can deliver upto 140 miles of range in just 20 minutes.
