After its debut at the 2019 Geneva Auto Show, the company has released official photos of what the car will look like. With its mystique looks and bold appeal, we assure you the Tonale will be more than you need in a premium compact SUV. The Tonale is said to hit the U.S dealerships starting in the 1st quarter of 2023.
Engine Specifications & Performance
The 2023 Tonale will come with two powertrain options with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive as standard. The base variant will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 256 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The Tonale will also feature an optional 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor that produces a combined 272 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid will come equipped with a six-speed automatic gearbox and will offer 30 miles of electric range. All powertrain will come with an independent suspension setup and optional adaptive dampers. The Tonale is out on roads only in Europe as of now and offers an underpowered hybrid engine. The US-spec model will come with a more powerful hybrid engine. Alfa Romeo promises that Tonale will deliver the best driving experience in any premium compact car inspired by the brand’s racing DNA.
Fuel Economy & Mileage
The 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale with its efficient engine with hybrid technology is Alfa’s most high-tech car ever. As the official EPA rating and fuel economy figures are not yet disclosed. We expect the new Tonale will offer a fuel economy of over 60 MPGe with its hybrid powertrain. The base gas-owered engine will offer a mileage of around 22 mpg in the city and around 28 mpg on the highway.
