2023 BMW M4 GT4 Engine, Performance & Price

2023 BMW M4 GT4 sports a high-tech powertrain and will be available for sale to teams for 2023. The car represents a new phase in BMW M Motorsport’s campaign of winning races and titles. The car is positioned above the M2 CS Racing in the motorsport division’s lineup. The M4 GT4 has lost the camouflage seen recently at the Nürburgring endurance race in favor of a proper M livery.

The new M4 GT4 is based on the new 6th gen BMW M4 production car. Also, it borrows a number of the key techs from the production model, while employing a range of elements from the BMW M4 GT3. This racing car’s engine is a ‘six-cylinder in-line with M TwinPower Turbo technology, having four valves per cylinder, direct injection, and Valvetronic system‘.

The surprising part is, that the M4 GT4 has not only air conditioning but also a heated windscreen and even a ventilated Recaro seats as standard. The traction control has no less than 10 adjustable modes, while the anti-roll bars at the front and rear have five-level adjustments. The car sports H&R suspension springs featuring three different rates along with KW shock absorbers.

The inline-six engine from the M4 road car produces 550 hp and 650 Nm of torque. All the power is sent to the wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission from ZF with a limited-slip differential.

Price

BMW M4 GT4

The M4 GT4 will be entering the final phase of testing, which includes participation in the Nürburgring Endurance and the 24 Hours of Portimão. The production starts in October 2022, with deliveries set for the 2023 racing season. The GT4 has a net price of around $196,200.
