The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning will produce an increased power of 580-hp with the extended battery pack and has more payload capacity.
Overview
As you recall, Ford started the production of the 2023 F-150 Lightning on April 26. Ford announced it via a Livestream event from the Lightning assembly line in Dearborn. Ford announced a welcome offer for their customers for the Ford F-150 Lightning. Regardless of the trim level, all Ford Lightning will have more power and more payload capacity.
The Ford EV pickup with the standard-range battery will produce a good 452 horsepower. Which is an increase of 26 horses from Ford’s original estimate ratings. And with the extended battery pack, the power has increased from 563 to 580 horsepower. But the torque (775 pound-feet) and range of the Lightning (320 miles) remain standard for all the trim levels.
Along with increased power, the F-150 Lightning has an increased payload capacity of 2,235 pounds from the previous 2,000 pounds. Ford mentioned that the payload limit applies to properly equipped trucks.
“We were seriously focused on raising the bar on this truck, including after we revealed it, so we can deliver more for our customers.” “And our drive for continuous improvement will get a big boost when we start getting feedback and ideas from customers when they receive their Lightning.” said F-150 Lightning Vehicle Engineering Manager Dapo Adewusi.

During the Lightning production launch party, Ford CEO Jim Farley said directly, “another electric pickup will be different from this one.” Last September, Ford announced the construction of a sprawling new manufacturing centre in Tennessee. It will be for battery production and the next-generation electric F-Series.
The people are excited for the next electric pickup truck from the company, as the rumours have grown after the F-150 Lightning’s announcement. There are speculations that the upcoming Ford truck will carry more electric driving range than the Lightning. It will share some of the components but will be a completely new product from the company and will be different from the Lightning.
As goes for Lightning, it will hit your nearest dealerships soon after the production has been completed.
