Bajaj Chetak Premium Electric Scooter Launched at Rs. 1.35 Lakh
Bajaj has rolled out a substantial update for the top-tier Premium variant of the Chetak EV. Following the introduction of the more budget-friendly Urbane variant last year. The 2024 Bajaj Chetak Premium model now comes with a price tag of Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom), marking a Rs 15,000 increase from its predecessor. The most notable enhancement is the introduction of a new 3.2kWh battery pack, boasting a claimed IDC range of 127km. However, it’s worth noting that this boost in battery capacity has also extended the charging time, with a 0-100 per cent charge now taking 4hr30min, likely attributed to the larger 2.88kWh unit compared to the previous version.
What’s New?
The refreshed Chetak Premium sees a significant upgrade with the introduction of a new 5-inch TFT dash, bringing it on par with other EVs in this category. When you sync your smartphone with the dash, you unlock access to navigation updates, notification alerts, and music playback. However, it’s important to note that these features, along with sequential indicators and the Sport riding mode, are exclusive to the optional Rs 9,000 TecPac, which can be added during the Chetak purchase. Retaining its earlier features, the 2024 Chetak Premium still boasts a hill hold assist, keyless ignition, and a reverse mode.
