2024 Porsche 718 Boxster All Prices, Engine, Mileage, Top-Speed, 0-60 MPH & Specs

The 2024 Porsche 718 Boxster, along with its coupe counterpart, the Cayman, have carved out a niche as mid-engined performers deserving of sharing display space with the cherished 911. The Boxster is a sports car masterpiece, even with the entry-level turbo four-cylinder, thanks to its precise handling and excellent chassis balance. While carving up slopes as if you were preparing them for dinner, drop the top to hear the exhaust note and enjoy the sun. The Boxster isn’t the most useful object on four wheels; its usefulness suffers as a result of small cargo spaces and constrained interior room. Despite this, it’s also happy loping along the interstate or running errands. Porsche’s smallest sports car continues to be a team favorite despite these sacrifices because of its charm.

What’s New?

This year, the Boxster lineup expands to include a brand-new Style Edition variant. 20-inch rims, hood, and door graphics, unique floormats with chalk-colored stitching, illuminated door sill plates, and embossed Porsche logos on the headrests are all added to dress up the basic model. A new Ruby Star Neo paint shade is also introduced with the Style Edition. The Boxster’s interior has a little bit more plastic than we’d anticipate for a vehicle of this price, but buyers can almost completely cover every surface in leather for a fair cost, including the console lid, door panel trim, and instrument cluster top. Germans don’t drink their Nachmittagskaffee while driving, after all, so the Boxster’s two flimsy dash-mounted pop-out cupholders are of limited use and show a cultural disdain for driving with beverages.

Engine & Performance

Three different engines are available for the Boxster: a 2.0-liter flat-four turbocharged with 300 horsepower; a 2.5-liter flat-four turbocharged with 350 horsepower; and a 4.0-liter flat-six turbocharged with 394 horsepower. However, customers can choose Porsche’s perceptive seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic instead of the precise, low-effort six-speed manual gearbox that comes standard with each. The base and S models were excellent in our testing and are a lot of joy. Our greatest respect is for the Boxster’s handling and steering abilities. In turn, it feels balanced and stable, and the superbly communicative steering responds swiftly and precisely to even the smallest inputs. Although the ride is comfortable enough for lengthy journeys, the Boxster’s chassis communicates with you as though the tire patches have a direct connection to your vestibular system. Even the base-spec Boxsters behave exactly like we want them to.

According to the EPA, the standard Boxster’s turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-four and six-speed manual achieves 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the interstate. The seven-speed dual-clutch automatic offers buyers 1 extra mpg in each area in exchange for their choice. The S and GTS variants only perform marginally worse.

Two USB ports are generally not enough, but with only two seats in this car, how many additional USB ports do you need? For those drivers who still prefer to listen to CDs, there is still a regular CD player. A Wi-Fi hotspot and navigation are options for buyers. Apple CarPlay connectivity is now standard on Porsche vehicles, while Android Auto is still not available.

The GTS 4.0 variant, with its potent and resonant flat-six, is the Boxster to buy if you have no spending restrictions. However, we recognise that not everyone has the means to spend $90,000 on a two-seat convertible. Thus the S model is the best option for people with modest budgets. Although the PDK automatic transmission is a great option, this car needs the manual transmission. We advise choosing only the limited-slip rear differential, ventilated seats, and the lowered suspension with adaptive dampers from the available options.
