Toyota has been progressively introducing the mild-hybrid variant of the Hilux across various international markets and plans to debut a similar version for the Fortuner. With the Fortuner’s widespread popularity in India, the country could be among the initial markets to receive this technology. The mild-hybrid system works with the GD series diesel engine to enhance acceleration, fuel efficiency, and overall performance.

2. Electric SUV (Maruti Suzuki eVX-based):

The upcoming three-row version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser, called the Hyryder, will be based on the platform of the forthcoming Maruti Suzuki Y17. Similar to its five-seater counterpart, the seven-seater Hyryder will share many similarities with the Y17 (7-seater Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara). It will feature the familiar 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine. And a possibility of also offering the 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol mill. Modifications to the rear will accommodate seating for two additional passengers, along with potential enhancements to the features list.
