Over the next two years, the Indian car market will inundated with electric SUVs from major brands, some featuring four-wheel-drive configurations due to the dual motor setup. Popular brands such as Tata and Mahindra, are set to offer some of their best flagship electric SUVs in the Indian market. These SUVs will pack a potent set of electrified powertrains and offer a feature-rich interior Here are the 4 new electric SUVs launching in India in 2024.

1. Tata Curvv:
The Tata Curvv will make its official debut at the end of the second quarter of 2024. The coupe SUV from Tata Motors will be offered in both ICE and EV variants. The electric version will offer over 500 Km of driving range on a single charge. Tata’s Curvv EV will offer two electric motors, one on each axle and come with all-wheel drive. The exterior design will take cues from the Curvv Concept while the interior will remind you of the new Harrier and Safari Facelift models.
2. Mahindra XUV.e8:
The upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 will arrive in December 2024 in India. Built on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform, the electric 4×4 SUV will take major inspiration from Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV700. The company will offer this electric SUV above the XUV700 while the pricing will be around Rs. 28 Lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV.e8 takes its design cues from the concept car automaker showcased a few times back while the interior will offer high-tech features while looking like the Mahindra XUV700.
3. Maruti Suzuki eVX & Toyota Sibling:
Maruti Suzuki eVX will arrive in India in late 2024, while its Toyota sibling will arrive in early 2025. Showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, the eVX made its production-ready version at the Japan Mobility Show in 2023. The design from the exterior and interior will offer a new design from the carmaker’s new-age design. Two electric motors with AWD will power the electric SUV will make over 300 hp and deliver a range of over 550 Km. Built on the e-SUVs by Toyota’s 27 platform, both eVX and its Toyota rivals will be exported to global markets from India.
4. Tata Harrier EV:
Shown at the 2023 Auto Expo, the Tata Harrier EV will arrive in India officially in 2024. The electric SUV will offer two electric motors that will offer all-wheel drive abilities. It will offer a range of over 500 Km on a single charge and come with loads of high-end features making it a perfect electric SUV for the segment. The Harrier EV will offer an advanced interior including a large touchscreen infotainment system, all-digital instrument console, 360-degree camera system, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, multiple airbags, capacitive HVAC controls, illuminated logo on the two-spoke steering wheel, etc.
These forthcoming electric 4×4 SUVs mark a significant stride towards sustainable and high-performance mobility in the Indian automotive landscape.
