Overview
It’s obvious that when you hear a M Sport car from BMW, you know that it would shake your head off with it’s thrilling driving. And this is proven yet again with the new 2022 BMW M3. It means performance and it means to give you the best of what BMW 3 can provide. It packs an oversized grille with a performance body kit, controversy’s aside, it’s got a 473 hp turbocharged six cylinder engine with a six speed manual gearbox, yes you heard it right, a manual gearbox !! Which makes this M3 to one of the purest true of live driving experience.
BMW also offers a much more track focused M3 Competition, which packs a 503 horsepower straight six but it lacks a manual transmission, instead to compensate it comes with an all wheel drive with an eight speed automatic. But you know what to look for if you’re looking for the real thrill and forti to get an ultimate driving experience.

What’s New For 2022 ?
It is the first time since the launch of the BMW M3, it will now come with an all wheel drive. But it’s only made optional for the M3 Competition. Sad part is for the buyers who wanted the same for their manual stick shift M3.
Engine, Top Speed, 0-60mph & Performance
The M3 sedan comes with a 3.0 Litre turbocharged six cylinder engine which makes 473 hp with 405 lb ft of torque which power the rear wheels of the car, through it’s six speed manual transmission which steals the show here. There is also the M5 Competition with an approach to a real track focused car with specially tuned chassis, and features the same but more powerful turbocharged six cylinder engine which makes a good 503 hp with 479 lb ft of torque paired with an eight speed automatic transmission with rear or all wheel drive. Both cars have adaptive dampers and adjustable brake pedals with optional carbon ceramic brakes with gold painted callipers.
The M3 can blast off from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 155 mph (which could be upgraded to 180 mph with the M Driver‘s Package). And the performance is just absolutely mind blowing with so much to do with the stick shift manual in the M3 sedan, which provided quick acceleration and feel much more controlled with it’s manual gearbox, drifts, cornering and that extra oversteer, it just feels so much great and that gear shift sound is just added bonus. Same goes for the M3 Competition, it’s powerful, it’s sleek with precise gear shifts and a great steering feedback and smooth ride with that constant thrill each time you step foot on the pedal. But the M3 lags somewhere behind when compared with the popular rival, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, which has a more driver leaning experience.
Fuel Economy | Mileage
You have to compromise on something, and with all that crazy power and thrill comes a poor fuel economy. The new BMW M3 manages to deliver a mileage of 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway and 1 mpg less on the highway with the all wheel drive model.

Price
The new 2022 BMW M3 will come at a hefty $70,000 price tag if you just want to have more fun with your 3. The M3 sedan makes it much more exciting for you with it’s manual gearbox. It’s sad that the much powerful M3 Competition doesn’t come along with a manual gearbox, but it has its own perks, more traction control, more effortless driving and what not.
