Overview
The new BMW X2, though it looks almost the same and shares some of its similarities with the entry level X1. But don’t get hung up with that, it tricks you with it’s fastback roofline and sprightly driving. It packs the same powertrain with a turbo four engine inside but with two power outputs. The base variant which makes 228 hp and the top spec M35i variant which makes a good 305 hp and a smooth eight speed automatic transmission for a good power delivery and stability in the twisty roads as well as on the highway. It provides a driving attitude which the brand is known for.
What’s New For 2022 ?
For the 2022 year, buyers can now add the black side mirror caps for their new BMW X2 with the extended shadowline package which includes gloss black finishes instead of the chrome trim.

Engine, Top Speed, 0-60mph & Performance
Although the 2022 BMW X2 shares it’s base trim with the same 2.0 Litre turbocharged four cylinder engine which makes 228 hp, paired with an eight speed automatic transmission with front or all wheel drive system, the M35i adds more power with the same engine but makes a powerful 305 hp with an equal 238 lb ft of torque and with the same transmission and all wheel drive system. The new 2022 BMW X2 can go from 0-60 mph in 6.1 and 4.6 seconds depending on the variant you get and can achieve a top speed of 130 mph. The ride quality is on the stiffer side with its average sport suspension setup and not so comfortable and holding seats, the engine has good revving power, and great throttle response for your usual chores and pn par with the competition such as the Mercedes Benz GLA250 and tha Volvo XC40 T5.
Fuel Economy | Mileage
The new 2022 BMW X2 with its front wheel drive is quite fuel efficient, capable of delivering a mileage of 21 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with 1 mpg less on the all wheel drive variant and with 2 mpg less for the M35i variant.
